In 1998, directors Harrison and Cheryl Brown started an online booking website for London, hand-selecting and categorising hotels into genre rather than just star rating. The business gained great appreciation from booking audiences and grew over 10 years to be a very influential London based booking website. The website was called www.hotels-london.co.uk and had the advantage of a) being a very destination focused booking site and b) hand selecting hotels; In 2004 Hotels.tv produced video for Hotels-London.co.uk making it the first hotel booking website to show hotel videos.
Hotels-London was bought by Laterooms.com in 2008 (a part of First Choice/TUI Plc). This enabled directors to create the www.hotels.tv website, providing the same hand-selected accommodation with video reviews, for worldwide destinations via its network of destination based franchised agents.
Hotels.tv was the official booking agent for the World Music Awards in 2006 and has worked with many publications and PR campaigns providing professional comment on hotel industry related and boutique hotel articles. The company has also produced over 250 videos with many presenter-led hotel reviews and has distributed these around online video channels like Youtube, Metacafe, Google and Yahoo videos. The company is also very involved with social marketing via Twitter and Facebook, promoting special hotel rates and new properties to audiences.
