All rooms are characterized by a refined and understated style, soothing to the eyes and the rest of the senses. In addition to the wood and lavish marble, the interplay with the small tanks of water that dot the lobby and restaurant also stands out. As for colors, the hotel is awash in different palettes of gray and green offset by the occasional splash of red. All of the rooms are practical and unfailingly modern and, since they all face outward, invariably drenched in natural light. They are moreover fully appointed with Internet hookups, satellite TV, mini-bars and a free safe.

CAPITAL Restaurant offers five highly original first courses based on both meat and fish, ranging from cod carpaccio with avocado foam and chili biscuit to gilthead with textured potatoes and a citrus fruit reduction or duck comfit with date purée and fried cassava fruit. Desserts include such unusual specialties as green tea soup drizzled in lemon caramel and dusted with explosive Peta Zetas pop rocks. Capital Restaurant offers creative cookery based on fresh ingredients, a fusion cuisine with nods to Japanese, South American and Pakistani culinary traditions. In addition to the daily prix fixe menu for area clients, the restaurant, which can seat up to 50, offers a prix fixe family menu on Sundays for local residents.

The dining area’s décor combines vintage photographs with contemporary furniture and colorful dishes and linen.
