Hotel Details
stay
The Neri H&R is housed in an 18th-century palace that has been completely restored and refurbished, taking special care to conserve the singular features of the original building. The hotel-restaurant has 22 select rooms and a standout culinary offer, as well as a library-lounge and a gardened rooftop terrace and solarium with views of Barcelona’s fairytale Gothic Quarter.
The rustic décor stands in pleasing contrast to the modern, flat-screen plasma televisions located in each of the 22 rooms. Moreover, each room is fitted with an Internet hookup, stereo with a CD player and on-demand cable video system with 25 regularly updated films. Taken as a whole, the rooms exemplify the belief in the beauty of difference and contrast that defines Neri H&R, a belief with room alike for the classic and the modern, for glamour and technology.
relax
The building’s roof entices guests to relax on the rooftop terrace and solarium. This space was designed adhering to feng shui principles to create an atmosphere with the perfect balance of all five elements: water, earth, metal, fire and wood. Comfortable lounge chairs, refreshing modern shower facilities and plants such as jasmine and orange blossoms help make this area the very epitome of repose for Neri H&R guests. The library-lounge, with its original coffered ceilings, offers guests another beguiling space.
The goal was to create an atmosphere both pleasant and enticing. Leading magazines from the worlds of design, culture, aesthetics, art, interior decoration and travel are all available, as are numerous books that explore the prominent roles played by Barcelona and Catalonia throughout history. In addition to more traditional travel guides, guests can also explore the city through the words of acclaimed authors who have made Barcelona central to some of their greatest works, such as novelists Eduardo Mendoza, Juan Marsé, Carlos Ruiz Zafón or Luis Carandell.
eat/drink
The Neri Restaurant, which overlooks Plaza Sant Felip Neri, has a unique and varied menu. In the dining room, which can seat up to 35, two 12th-century arches can still be seen from the original structure on which the establishment was built. They lend the room a special charm and set it off from the lounge. The restaurant also offers a private room for business meetings and celebrations. To complement its Mediterranean cuisine de auteur, the restaurant offers a top-notch wine cellar stocked with premium international wines.

The hotel-restaurant’s location played a key role in its interior design. Because the Gothic Quarter is so dense, the hotel sought to create a light and airy respite. Thus, each room beckons to guests, offering high comfort and charm inextricably bound to an unconventional and eclectic décor that blends original 18th–century elements with striking avant-garde twists.
