A warm Family Welcome Awaits! The Retreat is minutes from the city-by-pass and 20 minutes south of Edinburgh City Centre. An eight bedroomed family owned and run hotel renovated in May 2011. The rooms are all individually designed with period features and stylish decor. All rooms have a flat screen tv, fantastic tea/coffee making facilities and free wifi access.

An Opulent but very casual affair, we cater from business, to family or tourists alike. Serving food and drink from 7am til late 7 days a week. Free wifi throughout the hotel and also free on site car parking. Set yourself up with one of our hearty breakfasts- all local produce with complimentary papers in the morning. Our bar has to be one of the quirkiest in Scotland and we show all major sporting events on Sky Sports HD with a large range of local beers and large choice of wines available. Our dining room is the ideal area for a celebration and we can cater from 2-70 in one of our specially appointed rooms. Our Conservatory looks out onto the play area and beer gardens which are an ideal place to unwind during the Scottish Summers! We also have a number of more chilled out areas. We are the perfect base for taking in Rossyln Chapel, with a wide range of golf courses close by and the option of borrowing clubs from us. Walkers and wildlife-lovers can explore the surrounding coast and countryside of East, West and Midlothian- perfect for beach walks in Gullance or Yellowcraigs, with great walks along the Pentland Hills and country parks to explore like Vogrie and Dalkeith.
