GITEX 2013 – Gulf Information Technology Exhibition

GITEX is one of the world’s largest consumer goods trade shows for the technology industry. It is held annually in Dubai and attracts over 150,000 people including retailers, suppliers, IT professionals, technology enthusiasts, students and general consumers.

The breadth and range of participants is unbelievable and includes Cisco, Dell, Du, Etisalat, Facebook, Google, Hewlett Packard, Huawei, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Nokia, Oracle, RIM, Samsung, SAP, Symantec, Dell, RedHat, Apple, Samsung, Intel, and many many more.

This event attracts the latest in both software and hardware, with many retailers showcasing eye-catching launches that lead to interesting debates and facilitates the host of business connections. For example, in 2009, Microsoft released Windows 7 and in 2012 it released a preview of Windows 8. Etisalat also showcased their 300 Mbps speed on the 4G LTE network, the NFC/Flous display, and augmented reality demonstration at last year’s event, as did  50 Cent with his SMS Audio Headphones.

GITEX 2013 will be held at the Dubai World Trade centre – an impressive conference and exhibition arena – between the 20th and 24th of October.
