I get many requests from visitors looking to stay near, or in, Edinburgh Castle. The Rutland is a super stylish 4-Star boutique hotel at the end of Princes Street. The hotel has 12 cool rooms, including 3 suites – free WiFi is available throughout. The Grassmarket Hotel is the most affordable hotel on our list. The rooms and fine and basic but don’t expect too many fancy extras. This 2-Star hotel offers 45 bedrooms arranged over the upper floors above Biddy Mulligans Pub. If you need to be in the heart of Edinburgh’s nightlife and are on a tight budget this is a great place to be based. **Grassmarket Hotel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment programme and there might be some disturbance to guests due to work being carried out**
