Anyone who has been to Edinburgh for a break will tell you that the city has everything you could need to be highly entertained, or get away from it all.
Those looking for romantic breaks need look no further. With Michelin starred restaurants, cool champagne bars, picturesque walks and boutique shops for special gifts, Edinburgh has something for you and your partner.
If art and culture are your things then Edinburgh can supply you with all you need for a cultural break. We have galleries galore and new performances every night of the year. Thousands of people come to Edinburgh every week to enjoy theatre and museum breaks.
Edinburgh is also hugely popular for Christmas breaks – the city comes alive with colour as the ice rink, German market and Big Wheel open for business in early December to mid January.
And of course, there’s the big one – Edinburgh’s Hogamanay! Four days of non-stop entertainment and celebrations, topped off with fireworks and whisky – a great combination…
Edinburgh is easy to get to from across the UK by train or plane, plus Edinburgh airport links the city with the rest of Europe only an hour or two away. The road network around Edinburgh is superb too, making it easy to get to by road. However, for those of you who insist on driving I’d recommend staying at a hotel with free and secure onsite parking – parking otherwise can be trick and expensive.
So, if you are looking for somewhere to take a break this summer then take a look at Edinburgh.
