The Fringe Festival began in 2012 at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre but now has its home at the Matadero near Legazpi underground station. The original Fringe comes from Edinburgh, Scotland and stems back to 1947. Artists who were refused their place in the International Festival of Edinburgh, decided to start their “own festival” and called it the “Fringe”. The streets fill up with artists from all over the world, making this an international event that gets bigger and bigger every year. Lots of what you see in the shows reflect real life, whether this is good or bad and is shown in a light hearted way.

In ‎Fringe14 “anything and everything” goes, creative productions, something different! something you have never seen before! artists from Spain and 32 different countries in the world are taking part in what promises to be an explosion of culture. Clowns and jugglers are a delight for the children to see in the various functions during the day. In addition to the official programme, there will also be free concerts, audio visual performances, round tables and workshops.
