Follow your conviction by entering the 2015 RECM Knysna 200 – and stand the chance of winning your share of a R50 000 unit trust sponsored by RECM.
The extremely popular three day stage race takes place in Knysna and offers 200km of the best mountain biking out there. But there is more to enjoy than just the stunning routes, a five star race village and the fantastic prizes on offer – buy a ticket at R200 and stand a chance of winning your share of a R50 000 unit trust courtesy of RECM. Proceeds from ticket sales and a R20 000 share from the main prize will got to a charitable organisation still to be determined by the race organisers and RECM.
“We are extremely proud of our association with RECM,” said route director Pax Mosterd. “It’s great to work with a sponsor who not only understands mountain biking, but is as passionate about the sport as we are.”
ONE OF TEAM RECM’S RIDERS LEADING THE PACK DURING THE 2013 RECM KNYSNA 200
“There’s a strong core of cycling and mountain biking nuts at RECM,” writes RECM CEO Jan van Niekerk in his article In it for the long haul. “Apart from enjoying the health benefits and the scenery that come with the sport, we like cycling because of its similarities to investing. We therefore sponsor the RECM Knysna 200, as well as a professional mountain biking team (with the very original name ’Team RECM’).”
Pax explained that the start venues are all within 20km of the race village. “Each day’s route offers a unique riding experience. We start day one at the Knysna Elephant Park and riders start the race meandering through the elephants. Day two starts in Rheenendal and takes riders through dense indigenous forest on previously unridden routes. We start the final day at the Harkerville Forestry Station and riders will have a tough time keeping their eyes on the track as they enjoy the awesome sea views from Kranshoek! They’ll be challenged by the famous Harkerville single track before making their way back to Knysna via the Brackenhill Falls – truly a spectacular ride.”
“Each day’s riding finishes at Tapas & Oysters in Thesen Harbour Town, so bring the whole family to enjoy deliciously catered meals and fun vibes at one of Knysna’s favourite hangouts,” said Pax. “The delis, spas and hotels in Thesen Harbour Town will also be offering some exciting specials to all entrants – keep an eye on our website for more details.”
And then there is the most exciting special offer of all – the R50 000 unit trust up for grabs. “This amazing prize, once again sponsored by RECM, will be shared by one lucky rider and a charity. The ticket holder will receive R30 000 and the remaining prize money will be awarded to the non-profit organisation,” said Pax.
“So go on, follow your conviction and enter the 2015 RECM Knysna 200 today,” he concluded. “Entries are limited to 350 riders, so you’d better act fast. Thank you to RECM for their continued support. We truly value your contribution and involvement. And thank you to our other sponsors who have again made this an event to look forward to.”
Other sponsors of the event include Capestorm, Mitchell’s Knysna Brewery, Tapas & Oysters, Just Water, Mobii, Hammer Nutrition, Squirt and Knysna Tourism.
